8-way Recap

The final day of 8-way competition at Skydive Perris brought close battles, impressive performances and a tie-breaker to determine the final podium positions at the 2026 USPA National Championships.
In the intermediate class, Air Force Surf-N-Turf continued its strong performance throughout the meet, finishing with a total score of 61 to claim the gold medal. Crewm8s XP finished second with 49 points.
The battle for third came down to Elumin8 and Perris Bits, which were tied following Round 10. The teams returned to the sky for a tie-breaking jump, with Perris Bits scoring four points to Elumin8’s two to secure the bronze medal.
The advanced class faced an unexpected challenge when a member of Perris Blockhead suffered a minor injury and was unable to continue competing. Without a registered alternate, the team made the decision to continue with a new team member, making the team eligible only for a guest medal.
The competition between 7Friends and XPalidocious remained close throughout the meet. The teams tied in Rounds 1 and 4 and traded positions in the standings as the competition progressed. 7Friends ultimately claimed the silver medal with 53 points, while XPalidocious finished with the bronze, also scoring 53 points. Platinum8XP dominated the advanced class, finishing with a nine-point final round to secure the gold medal.
In the open class, Elsinore No Glory No Guthole averaged 12.5 points per round to earn the bronze medal. Arizona Airspeed finished second with a 13.9-point average.
XP8 continued its dominance throughout the competition, taking the gold medal with a final score of 182 and an 18.2-point average.
Following the conclusion of 8-way competition, Skydive Perris hosted an awards ceremony where teams gathered to celebrate their performances and recognize the newly crowned national champions.
With 8-way complete, attention now turns to 16-way competition. Teams will take to the sky tomorrow in their battle for the podium!
